The place appeared grubby with potatoes mashed into the carpet. The service was slow due to someone not showing up for work. A gentleman who was seated got up and started to help with serving. It took an hour for 2 very plain pancakes and a burned twisted piece of ... bacon....no garnishes at all. The server was pleasant but appeared to be on hyper speed. Surprised by the high reviews. This place was slow to get the food out, and as you can see from the photo, food was lacking, 2 pancakes, and 1 piece of burned bacon..and this is how it came out of the kitchen. There were hashbrowns on the floor from a previous table ... and the older gentleman that was wiping the tables walked all over them and mashed them into the carpet, then proceeded back to his table to play with his phone. The server was pleasant and she knew they took too long and removed tax off the bill...but don't trust the high rating on Google. Read more

I was thrilled how seriously they take food allergies. I felt very confident eating their homemade gluten free waffles and I was not disappointed!! Very safe and tasty! I cannot wait to go back to try more!

We decided to come here for breakfast after seeing all of the wonderful reviews it had received. Unfortunately, it was probably the biggest disappointment we've had in years. Firstly was the size of the table. It was hardly big enough to fit one person, so with two people who aren't light ... eaters it was difficult to be comfortable while eating. Next, we had noticed the carpet along the wall looked like it hadn't be vacuumed in quite some time, as well as an overwhelming amount of dust buildup on everything. The menu was small but had a decent variety with good prices. My boyfriend had ordered the Manhandler (4 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, 2 sausages, home fries and french toast), and I got the special (2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, 2 pieces of peameal bacon and home fries). We received our food in a reasonable amount of time and to be honest the food itself left a lot to be desired. The home fries and toast for both of our orders were burnt. The toasts edges were completely black while the middles were soft and unpleasant. The home fries were burnt. The onions were completely black for my boyfriend's order and I received next to none with my order. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. While we were eating our meal the couple next to us got up and left, a server came over and "cleaned" the table, when she was finished there were still large pieces of leftover food from the previous customers. Shortly after that another server came over to sit more customers and she had seen the table was dirty, but rather then getting a cloth and wiping the table down she simply brushed the leftover food on to the floor. Once we finished our food we went over to the counter to pay for our meal and leave. The servers walked past us without even saying one moment or acknowledging us. We waited over 10 minutes to be checked out. Considering all of the positive reviews this restaurant receives, it was extremely disappointing. Excellent food and service at Laurie's Kitchen. Best service the while trip. Great coffee, real orange juice awesome food. Staff was so wonderful with the kids and treated them very well. They don't gauge you on prices either. Will be back every time we visit.
