Rainforest Cafe - Niagara Falls, Ontario

A great place for kids.. You're definitely paying for the fun, the environment and atmosphere and not just the food. The food is average (or even below average based on my wife lol) and the food alone is not worth the price tag (the kid's meal is pretty good, showing ... in the photo).. but it's a great dining experience and you'll feel you're really in a forest probably. We attempted to dine at this restaurant tonight with our 3 young children. We arrived at 7:45 and were told it would be a 25 minute wait for a table, we felt this was reasonable so we waited but we weren’t seated until after 9pm (red flag #1). Upon walking ... to our table, I noticed the restaurant appeared very dirty with food and debris all over the ground (red flag #2). The restaurant was fairly empty with plenty of tables but we were seated at the table right at the entrance to the kitchen with a giant dirty fan blowing that was incredibly loud. We asked for a different table but the host seemed hesitant to seat us somewhere else which I didn’t understand. Our server approached us and offered us a booth instead, away from the giant noisy, dirty fan and we were fine with that. Our server was kind and attentive. He promptly brought us water, however they didn’t have enough clean cups so I was served water in a disposable cup… (red flag #3). At a restaurant that charges at least $34 for an entree, I didn’t expect to be served anything in plastic. We ordered meals for our children and I took my daughter to the bathroom while we waited. The garbage cans in the bathroom were overflowing, 2 out of 6 stalls were out of order and the accessible stall was absolutely disgusting - I couldn’t imagine being a person with a disability and having no choice but to use that filthy stall (red flag #4). Upon returning to our table, I sat down and my shirt caught on something underneath the table and ripped. The plastic covering on the table wasn’t properly affixed and caught my shirt and tore it. It was quite sharp and I worried about my kids getting hurt by it (red flag #5). By this point, we had serious concerns about the cleanliness of the restaurant and our kids were exhausted from waiting over an hour but they were very hungry so we requested our kids’ meals to go (chicken nuggets & fries, and pepperoni pizza & fries), we opted not to order meals for ourselves. Our server was apologetic and we acknowledged that absolutely none of this was his fault. He was prompt in bringing us the kids meals and our bill. We inspected the meals before leaving the restaurant and noticed the pizza was very undercooked and not edible (the dough was practically raw - red flag #6). At this point we approached the manager. She was kind and apologized for our negative experience. We were refunded the cost of our meals, and our children were given souvenir cups. We appreciated these gestures but were sad to leave with such a disappointing experience. Too many red flags for me to recommend this place or give it a second chance. First of all, the atmosphere was amazing since the decor was very unique. But the food was the reason we approached this restaurant. I got the primal steak, since i usually love steak. The steak was very chewy and hard, even when i ordered medium well. It was tasteless and i ... had to lather it in salt for the slightest taste. Pro tip: don’t get steak at the restaurant that doesn’t specialize in it. The service: bad. We waited such a long time for our food. If the food was good, it wouldn’t of matter as much. I recently dined at the Rain Forest Bar and Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The menu offers a delightful variety of dishes, ... blending local flavors with international cuisine. I started with the exotic fruit salad, which was fresh and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I had the grilled salmon with mango salsa – perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dessert selection is equally tempting; the coconut flan was a standout. The drink menu is extensive, featuring creative cocktails and a great selection of wines and beers. I highly recommend trying the signature "Tropical Storm" cocktail – a refreshing and perfectly balanced blend of flavors. Service was top-notch. As our trip to Niagara drew to a close, my boyfriend and I decided to cap off our food adventures with a visit to Rainforest Cafe, and what a delightful finale it turned out to be! Opting for classic comfort food, my boyfriend indulged in the Fish-N-Chips while I savoured the ... Rainforest Burger accompanied by a fresh salad. The Fish-N-Chips were a true standout, perfectly crispy without being greasy, and bursting with flavour. Meanwhile, the Rainforest Burger was a juicy masterpiece, with every bite delivering a symphony of taste sensations. And the salad? Surprisingly fresh and crisp, a perfect complement to our hearty mains. But it wasn't just the food that left us impressed. The service was exemplary, with our waiter going above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff's warmth and friendliness added to the inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home amidst the jungle-themed decor. As we enjoyed our meal, we couldn't help but notice the cheerful ambiance, punctuated by the joyful sounds of birthday celebrations.
