Nice restaurant in New Westminster. I like the smile faces with waitress. I feel very warm welcome when I walked into their restaurant. For the foods, my friend tried the breakfast special, decent price ($6.50) with sausages, two eggs, white toasts and fried potato. I tried the noodle soup they ... just came out this month. Spicy Diced deep fried chicken noodle soup, WOW! Super delicious. I have never try this kind of noodle before. They offered spicy/mild/no spicy. Strong recommend with spicy!!!! Overall, very nice place for lunch, coffee is fabulous there. Read more
A hidden gem. (Cash only) You’d never find it unless you intentionally look out for it. Serves wholesome food at great prices. Food (refer to pictures): I had the Workman’s Special ($9.75), which in my opinion, was pretty impressive. The scrambled eggs were done just right, soft and fluffy, the toast was was ... buttered and sugared, loved it, especially with the peanut butter that came with it. Sausages were a standard, but the pan fried potatoes were pretty darn good, nice and crispy on the outside, soft, not mushy, and warm on the inside. I also had buttermilk pancakes ($7.50) and the wonton soup ($10.50). The buttermilk pancakes were soft and delicious, paired with the side of Aunt Jemima’s syrup, and jam, absolutely delicious. The wonton soup, which includes BBQ pork, and about 10 wontons were an absolute steal. We asked for egg noodles which was better suited for the soup and it was great. The egg noodles were done right, nice and tangy, not overcooked or undercooked. Wontons were stuffed with meat, unlike other place where the wontons are fatty and greasy, with thick and sticky wonton skin, the wontons were filled with lean pork and authentic wonton skin that’s so smooth, it slides right off after biting into it. The soup seems to have been catered to the Canadians that patronize the shop, which is great! It’s light, savoury and doesn’t leave you feeling bloated. The wonton noodle bowl in the pictures is actually half of the serving as the owners were nice enough to split it for my friend and I. They have bottomless coffee too. Price: My friend and I paid about $45 for the meal which included tips. Which was reasonable as the staff were friendly and attentive. Service: Friendly staff. Great service. Would I recommend? Yes. Go with friends and family. It’s a lovely place with great food, and the Wonton Noodle Soup is a MUST TRY, I heard that people travel from Langley just to pick up food from this cafe. Read more
Great place to grab a diner breakfast. Nothing fancy. Just the usual. Sharon who run Amelia's is always friendly and one time when it was empty between breakfast and lunch, she took our 6 month old and held her till we finished our meals, which was really sweet.
Frankly, you get what you pay for. But for "cheap" the food is fine and the service satisfactory. When you can have breakfast for 2 for $21 including the tax it's a deal. As long as they don't get overwhelmed with customers they handle the service just fine. ... It's not fine dining... Read more
I have been going to Amelia cafe for years. This is a classic cafe. Great for breakfast and coffee. Good service food and prices. I hope to continue to frequent Amelia cafe for many more years. It will be a sad day if Amelia cafe closed. If you like the ... old fashioned classic cafe experience and haven't been here yet, you should definitely try it out.
