Union Jack Public House - New Westminster, British Columbia

This is very similar to a pub back in the UK. Large space and typical British pub furniture. It was true to the name. An extensive drinks menue, and some fun authentic shooters! Good for a few drinks, or a casual celebration. Nothing overly fancy, but a nice atmosphere. They ... also have a few different weekly events! Unfortunately we were disappointed by the food. The menu is large and they have a lot of options, but I just found the quality to be very average, especially for the prices. We had burgers, fried and a grilled sandwich and nothing was remarkable. However, the menu is large so maybe we just chose the wrong thing! I don't think I would pay for the food again, but otherwise it was a cute place! My cocktail was kinda off, food was better than expected. The shaved lamb surprisingly went well with the mint sauce, I still don't know how they made Brussels sprouts that good. The chicken in pasta was pretty dry & plain. The interior decor and vibe feels like a remote town ... club in the 1980s; most if not all customers are white old women & middle aged guys. Really enjoyed our visit here, had a great feel to it and the food and atmosphere were awesome, plus the Yorkshire pudding was on special and you can't beat that, check the photo 😁

Great atmosphere, friendly service. We went on a Friday night a few weeks ago, there was some live music and a decent crowd. The servers may have had somebody call in sick, but despite appearing under staffed the ladies who were serving did an excellent job tending to everybody. We ... couldn’t be more impressed. I have been here couple of times. Very good service. The menu is full of options. Once I had tacos and the other time I had their Jambalaya. Both very nice but, I think the Jambalaya was better, and good value for your money. The IPA was good. Prices are reasonable. Central ... location. Read more
