This place is a MUST GO! Food was absolutely incredible, plated to perfection and the flavour unbeatable. Chef Kyle blew us away. The service was just fantastic as well! Despite all the negative reviews, my girlfriend and I stopped by here for dinner. It seems that due to low capacity/staff that they require non-guests to make reservations (preferably two hours ahead) which is understandable for a small restaurant. The food is more like 4 star quality but the view ... is incredible! Will definitely come back if we’re in the Kawarthas area again. Read more

Searching for a spot on the water to grab a bite on way back from camping...drove out of way to get to this cute little spot only to be told there is a two hour wait if not a guest of the resort. (80% of tables were empty). Would have ... been nice to know this before driving out of our way. Staff were very sweet but what a stupid rule. Showed up at Boathouse Pub at 4:30pm on a Wednesday looking forward to having a nice meal overlooking Stoney Lake. Not a single table was occupied, maybe 6 cars in the parking lot of the resort. The waitress asked us if we were staying at the resort. We were not ... and she sure was quick to turn us away claiming that we had to make a reservation 2 hours in advance as they give preference to guests staying at the resort. I can understand enforcing this rule on busy weekends with many guests at the resort, but for mid-week at 4:30pm this seems ridiculous. Its hard to believe how a place with a rule like this stays alive. We will be sure never to attempt to dine here again. We left and enjoyed an awesome meal at Mainstreet Landing in Buckhorn instead. Pulled up in our boat at this place, looking forward to a nice lunch on the water. 12:30, and 4 out of 24 tables were occupied. After waiting 10 minutes, server asked us if we were guests at the resort. When she found out we weren’t, informed that reservations were ... required, 2 hours in advance. We offered to settle up and leave in the unlikely event that the restaurant became crowded. Seeming confused, server said no and when we asked if she was refusing to serve us she said yes. In spite of the place being 3/4 empty, we were refused service! How does this place stay in business!!!!? Another patron told us 10 others had already been turned away, but we weren’t missing much as food not great anyway. Won’t be heading back to viamede!!! Read more
