I was given a room that was NOT renovated. This is important because my colleagues stayed in nicer rooms which I would have given a better review for I’m sure… However.. my room was NOT clean. I cringed at the thought of sleeping in the bed. I felt gross. The carpets ... were nasty, there was dust on every surface possible. Shoddily maintained. Caulking had mold. TV was small and old. Shower was mediocre. Lamps had RUST on them? Cables and wires coming out of the walls everywhere, wallpaper peeling off… trim falling off all over the place, and a mini fridge, but no microwave? Ruby Foo was booked via Expedia, and I made an excellent choice. Extremely well maintained and clean place. Pretty big hotel and located close to a few attractions in Montreal. Got dinner from a close by Indian restaurant. I stayed for a night with my family and surely recommend this ... place. Very courteous staff but due to their system issue, I had to wait until the check-in process was completed. The room was really very good, clean and the beds were neatly organized. The washroom was very clean too. Due to the weather and snow, we couldn't use the swimming pool. Complimentary breakfast was included in our package, but we were late for it. Overall, it was a pleasant stay Staff is friendly and polite Stayed there 2 times , and asked to upgrade the room for the view, and I've got it thanks to the nice gentleman at the reception desk I've got a better room with a better view, renovated bath, and better coffee machine ... with expensive coffee pods and a working fridge You can also fill your water bottle from the machines in each hallway, which I loved 😍 It's is my experience that hotels in Canada are not fancy compared to the Middle East, I Would have looked at it differently if I was comparing it to what we're used to. So I'm only comparing it to Canadaian hotels, it was a nice stay Most hotels in Canada are old with outdated furniture,? Prior to our reservation friends of ours advised us to be sure to request a room that has been recently renovated. The hotel has been or is in the process of a significant renovation to their rooms. The lobby and front desk is very new. The hallways are very clean ... and well-maintained. The well-equipped fitness centre is on the lower floor and is very clean. Our room with a king size bed was really spacious and very clean. Bathroom was clean and supplied with all of the liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash in refillable pump dispensers. No need to throw out unused plastic bottles. I wish the choice of TV channels was better than your Basic choice of channels. Very limited in English speaking channels. Our housekeeper for our stay in Room 230 was excellent. There is very limited restaurant service at the hotel. We ate off-site. My only significant pet-peeve is that the grounds (grass-cutting, weeds) were not maintained. The property on the side street is unkempt. Not good! Read more

The service was good, but the pool wasn't cleaned and ready, sadly. And for a 4-star hotel, it wasn't that great. I've seen greater quality at other hotels that were 3-star. I hope that they will improve a bit.
