Master Steaks - Mississauga, Ontario

Was recommended to Master Steaks by my dad who said it was fantastic years ago. I was quite disappointed since he spoke to highly about it. Prices are very reasonable however the quality isn’t great which is why you can get a steak, shrimp, side and salad for ... under $30. The steaks were ok. Ordered the steak and shrimp (shrimp was decent). Steak was under seasoned and slightly chewy. Greek Salad was good. Fish & Chips were beyond terrible. Got the lunch special basa for the kids and haddock for myself and both were very disappointing. It was just breading and barely any fish. I’d compare it to a chicken ball with no chicken inside. It was also very oily. Since it was all breading it retained the oil. I ended up throwing it out. I’d give it 0/5. Haddock was $17 and literally it was all thick batter. The fries were fresh cut which were good. The poutine is made with mozzarella and not cheese curds. Gravy extremely salty. My son had the grilled chicken Greek salad and said it was great. So stick to the chicken. And don’t get the cake. It was stale and $6.99 for the smallest slice. Service was slow. Girl preparing the food was miserable. Girl taking orders forgot our drinks. A great place to dine in Toronto by the airport. Great family homestyle cooking. Tasty foods and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend checking them out.

First of all, they’ve been around for about 50 years so that should be a good enough reason to visit for those who are curious. I purposely booked a nearby hotel because of Master Steaks. Their food is priced below-average but tastes def above average. Most of all, they’re one ... of the very few places in the GTA where tipping is not mandatory. So tipping is always because they really are good and that’s almost all the time. Have tried their bacon, t-bone, NY, delmonico, shrimp, souvlki. All are good. The delmonico is understably the best. The steak is not the best quality of meat but I get it. You just need to adjust your expectations. For $29 you get a 16oz T bone. It’s half the price of a Keg steak. For the entire meal with onion rings, salad, mushroom, and a drink, it’s $41 ... all in. And when you pay, the machine doesn’t preset for tips which got me off guard. They do have a tip jar at the counter so make sure to bring some cash. Read more

We came here in the middle of the afternoon hence there wasn't a lot of people. The staff gave out great recommendations and the food was lovely. They weren't the best steaks but I mean this is the family diner and for the price, it's well worth it. It was ... comfy, cozy, and great heartwarming food. Definitely a must try if you're ever around the airport. I recommend going for the steaks but everything else is great as well. if there's shrimp get it cooked. cause they slather it in butter and garlic. much better than just the cold cocktail shrimps they offer.
