Sizzling steaks, memorable moments - could you ask for anything more? On a hunt for a good steak, I ended up at Cagney's Steakhouse & Winebar (128 Queen St S Unit 10, Mississauga, ON L5M 1K8). A modern steakhouse and wine bar featuring swanky decor with plush seating and mood ... lighting, this eatery lacks in the service provided to patrons even if the food is adequate. The steak bites appetizer featured tender, bite-sized pieces of perfectly grilled steak, lightly seasoned with a savoury blend of herbs and spices, served with a rich dipping sauce that complemented their juicy, charred flavor. The main course, a tender 7oz sirloin, was accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and a colourful medley of steamed vegetables, all brought together with a zesty chimichurri and a robust pepper sauce, while the chicken fettuccine featured succulent pieces of chicken coated in a velvety alfredo sauce. Unfortunately, our experience of the wonderful meal was eclipsed by the fact that we had to wait for an hour despite making a reservation beforehand. While we were inside, the servers were quite curt when responding to us, and the crammed table setup did not help with our enjoyment of the meal. Food is delicious. We ordered French Onion Soup, Boneless Ribeye, Scallops and Shrimp Pasta, and Cagney Cheesecake. The French Onion Soup is surprisingly delicious, not as salty as other restaurants. Ribeye is well cooked at medium rare, not too raw and not overcooked. Scallops and Shrimp Pasta is delicious, shrimps are ... big and meaty, the pasta has a bit of spicy flavor, which I really like. The cheesecake is creamy but the homemade jam has a taste of sweet and sour, which makes the dessert a freshly taste. It balanced so well that even though me and my wife were full after the main course, we still eager to finish the whole dessert. The servant is very good. We ordered just one soup and one dessert, and he able to directly gave us two spoons for both soup and dessert without having us to ask for it!!! I would give the restaurant a five star if the restaurant could attend to a bit more details. It was our anniversary, and I specifically marked in my booking at opentable.ca. I brought my wife there intended for a surprise for her. Since the restaurant doesn’t aware of my remark, so nothing has been done to celebrate. 🫠 Anyway, the food is very delicious, and I do recommend to everyone looking for a non-franchise steakhouse. I have not been to Cagney's in many years but came in for dinner. Place looks a lot nicer than I recall and although I was hoping for a nice casual dinner, the place is a bit more upscale than I remember. The atmosphere was very nice, the ... staff was very very very nice and helpful, and the food was great. They have some great wines that were recommended that are not available everywhere. The steak was great, Ravioli was very tasty.. and the presentation of all meals and apps was very nice. Its definitely a step up from last time I was here. Great place for a nice night out. Family and I were celebrating a wedding. There was 8 of us and a baby. My sis called a head of time and they had made customized menu page. Thought is was nice touch. The two servers were great and the food came out at decent times. I had a ... potato leek soup appetizer, chicken, mashed potatoes with veggies and cheesecake. The food was soooo delicious!! Soup was smooth and yummy. My 10 month old loved it. I was surprised by how juicy and flavorful the chicken was they had a delicious mushroom sauce that went so well with chicken and mash potato. I love dessert and the cheesecake did not disappoint. Sooo good. We were there at lunch time and the weather outside was sunny and warm, so not sure why the fireplace was on. It was soo hot, myself my baby and those sitting by the fireplace were sweating. We had to ask them to turn it off. All in all this place is amazing. Enjoyed a spectacular meal here the other day. Had the boneless ribeye, French onion soup and fried calamari. Finished off with the lava cake and a coffee. The food was delicious and the service was great! Will definitely be back and would recommend!
