I love coming here for their bento boxes! I always get their Kalbi bento box for lunch and their Kalbi dinner box for dinner. You can definitely taste the freshness of the sushi and sashimi pieces here in comparison to other sushi places. However, sometimes I wish the sashimi pieces ... were cut a little bit bigger. The price is still pretty good for what you get and they also serve you Korean side dishes. At the end of your meal, you get free green tea ice cream. This is a very cozy family restaurant with a good mix of Japanese and Korean dishes. They also serve complimentary side dishes which is a plus. I've eaten here for five years and the food has been consistently good quality. The bento boxes are a good bet and the kalbi ... is usually very good. The main server is very quiet and gentle which is good if you don't like annoying service. The ice cream is unfortunately preportioned in bowls in the freezer, which means there's a film of ice over them. Read more

You can get better food and service for your money elsewhere. The service was slow. People who came in 10 minutes after us got their food before we did, even though we ordered first, we didn't even order much at all. Food itself was sub par. The sushi and rolls ... were comparable to those you'd get at a gas station convenience store: bland, unsavory, not fresh. The green tea ice cream wasn't anything special either. It was frozen rock hard. The taste was off somehow, can't really explain it, but it didn't taste at all like other green tea ice cream that I've had. Overall, I'd say 2/5 is a generous rating. Atmosphere isn't as nice as other sushi places. Sushi itself was good, but virtually indistinguishable from typical other sushi restaurants. The four small complimentary appetizers and green tea (despite being a little freezer burned) were a nice surprise. Small and quiet place with typical prices.

Top notch sushi with great value. Upon entering you will be greeted by the friendly owners. Korean appetizers are served that include pickled sea weed, bean sprouts, kimchi, red bean, pickled radish, cooked fish paste and some coleslaw. I come here for lunch and end up getting #43 as an upgrade ... from the sashimi lunch(#31). For $1.50 more you get 6 pieces of sushi and tempura! Some other favourites are bibimbap and a piping hot bowl of soon tofu in the winter. The bento box includes a savoury miso soup that is usually not watered down. The sashimi pieces are fresh, vibrant and generous... delicious. Tempura is battered well and fried just right in clean oil; tho the dipping sauce could be less sweet. A bowl of green tea ice cream concludes the meal with a bill of $15 (minus tip) leaving me sufficiently suffonsified! Sushi One has quickly become my first choice for sushi and Korean so much so that Google Now has marked it as a favourite place with travel times and route info haha. Read more
