First time here,very impressed with the breakfast and service. They were really bissy.But everything went well. Next time im in the HAT,i will be back and will reccomend to friends.

Lovely little diner, great menu of traditional Canadian fare, friendly staff and good prices. Somewhat erroneously named "The Chocolate Shop", this is due to the building originally being a chocolate/malt shop and is now a Landmark building! I think there are old black and white photos displayed in the Esplanade museum ... of kids gathering here in days gone by! The waitress told me that she has some 90 yr old customers who met at the high school just up the road and have been frequenting the chocolate shop ever since! ❤ Highly recommended. Read more

The burger I had was amazing! I opted for the Mozza burger with no relish and onions. I was totally gutted when I forgot my leftovers on the table when we left. The service was also outstanding! Why three stars? Premade fries and whipped topping on the chocolate cream pie. 😔 ... Fresh is always best and when you're going to the little mom and pop type places it's what you're hoping for. You want those delicious fresh fries and that real whipped cream. Especially when you've seen delicious fresh made fries in photos from The Chocolate Shops other reviews. Read more

Went here for breakfast, typical small town dinner. Nothing too special, but I'm a real sucker for places like this. If you get here before 10am they have a early bird special that's inexpensive.
