The School - Markham, Ontario

Food was tasty, the French onion soup was my favourite. Service was great! Loved the atmosphere, we were hosted well and nothing to complain - also service was so fast !

We have used The School for two family events (approx 70 people) in their private room and both times the experience was fantastic. Peter is wonderful to work with, organized, easy to get a hold of, and had great suggestions. Everything I had requested was set up perfectly and looked amazing. ... His staff and their service was exceptional. The space was beautiful, private and had lots of natural light. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Local restaurant in Markham and took me 37 years to finally trying this place! Located in a historic building. We went early so it was a bit quieter but got busier as the night went on. Food and service was great! Taste was good but presentation ... could have been a bit better. It was my wife’s bday and they provided a complimentary cake which was a nice touch! I had a wonderful birthday celebration at The School Fine Dining! The experience was top-notch. We ordered the fried calamari, served piping hot with a delightfully crisp batter, and a perfectly seared medium rare rib steak seasoned to perfection. The School never disappoints with its top-quality meats and ingredients. To ... end the night on a sweet note, we savoured a piece of their luscious tiramisu. What truly elevated the experience was the beautiful and classy environment. The warm ambiance, accentuated by a cozy fireplace, added a touch of elegance to our dining experience. Old school charm is a good description of The School, which has been in business for so many years and yet able to keep its quality. Came with family for some fine steaks and surely wasn’t disappointed. Ordered deep fried calamari, french onion soup, and grilled octopus as ... starter, roast prime rib, lobster and steak as main. Steak and roast were tender and full of flavor, and lobster tail was fresh. All tasted amazing and service was excellent, no complaint. Its one of the best steak house in Markham, and we’ll surely visit again. Read more
