This restaurant has been around for 4 years and I wish I had tried it out earlier to enjoy all the great food. There aren't many good quality shanghai food in Toronto and this definitley hits the mark. For those who don't know what to order or where to begin, I ... suggest starting with dishes that the restaurant recommends. They are all authentic and tastes amazing. The portion size is decent and a bit on the pricier side, but you are getting good quality and service in return. Their sweet sour pork tenderloin is a must try (but it's not the typical kind you get in restaurants). The way it's made is much more refine. Simple dishes such as Longjing stir fried shrimp, steamed egg with dried shrimp, pork belly stew are good enough reasons why one would want to go back. I would definitely go back to try other dishes. The same menu is served throughout the day, from lunch to dinner. They also have a wall of fame where many celebrities have tried and complimented the chef at previous locations. Enjoy! Read more

I like the sweet and sour pork, outside is very crispy and inside is tender. Most dishes I ordered is yummy. However, maybe because the market price all goes up and they are trying to stay the same, (the price is also not competitive, two of us spend around $80), ... so the size now is relatively small. If you have more than 3 people in a table, definitely need to consider order two for each cuisine. Read more

I don’t know why this place got so many one star ratings… I used to go to Grandma’s Home a lot in Shanghai, and this location provided an almost equal food quality, except that it’s much quieter and empty. There are splitters between tables, the waitress served us well, and ... the price was reasonable. The only part I don’t like was that they set their AC too high so we were all sweating while we ate. Food are either have no taste or too salty. The longjing shrimp is such a disappointment. Not even any tea flavour in the shrimp. I’ve never tasted a sour veggie beef like this. Beef is hot water boil separately to the soup; and the soup feels like water down. The ... gongbao chicken is so salty. The environment is so noisy and uncomfortable. Sorrry for the three dishes we ordered and I have to give this low score. The quantity is okay and it is even a bit larger than we expected but the quality is way below our expectations. The Aunt Song’s fish soup tasted like Cantonese sweet and sour soup. No ... taste of fish. I have tried this soup in Hangzhou and it tastes totally differently. Sweet sour pork tenderloin has too much flour. One other dish says there is bamboo in it but we didn’t see or taste any. I also wonder why it is so crowded when we left.
