Recently came here for a birthday dinner. The food was solid as I had anticipated. The service though had exceeded my expectations. Their manager’s, David, attention to detail was quite exceptional even amongst the finer Chinese restaurants. A couple of other servers who were assisting us were also very professional. ... My top three dishes that night were the stuffed duck, chicken and braised beef rib. I highly recommend this place for celebrating any special occasion. Plenty of free parking spots in the plaza. A typical Chinese banquet hall restaurant. We came for dim sum with a large group of 10 and had a nice time. Service was great because some of the staff used to work at another restaurant our families would visit frequently. Food was pretty good, and everything was "bigger" than ... usual (see photos). Restaurant is a little cramped spacing wise but overall decent. Would come back! Read more
It’s been a while since I have been able to spend time with my family in Markham. I’ve been abroad for a long time, I was really craving dim sum. Everyone in Markham knows this place; Casa Victoria. I have been about 2 years ago, and my family always goes. I ... had to come here the second I landed in Markham. I enjoyed my lovely experience at Casa Victoria. I came for brunch, and I loved everything I ordered. Markham/Canadian weather today have been really bad snow. Even with the bad weather, their business was boomin! I really recommend coming here. Along with the 20/10 food, their service is a 20/10 as well! Everyone was super duper nice and friendly. They accommodated to all my little brother’s allergies. I definitely recommend coming here! A beautiful banquet hall adorned by chandeliers that’s centrally located near the City of Markham with lots of parking. It’s price for fine dining. So all the Servers and Managers are highly attentive to all of their patrons. Since their service is impeccable, it’s a great place to do family ... celebrations as you know your table will be treated well. During our visit, we ran into an issue that was quickly rectified. The Manager, Tim was alerted and he dropped by our table and apologized. Apparently our steamed fish was undercooked while our Server was preparing to plate it. It was seamlessly dealt with and we appreciated that the Manager continued to check on us throughout the rest of the evening. Tim even gave us a “welcome back dine in visit” coupon for a complimentary stir fried medium sized shrimps with salted spice for our next visit. I highly recommend the Braised Beef short rib with French red wine sauce. The beef was flavourful and so tender. You will not be disappointed. The Banquet hall must keep the partition divider closed near the entrance so your guests will not see your storage area of corrugated boxes (receptionist area). Maybe place a tall mirror against that same wall, so your customers can see the reflection of your elegant dining room from the front foyer entrance. Washrooms look decently clean. There’s 1 accessible washroom stall to use. It was my first visit to this restaurant and it won’t be my last. I was excited to hear they do dim sum during the days. Read more
Our party of 13 enjoyed breakfast at Casa Victoria on a Saturday. We arrived about 15 min before opening, and by the time the doors opened a line had formed. Note that it tends to be busy on the weekends, and so I suggest planning for an early arrival. When ... we were having our meal I noticed that most (if not all) of the tables were taken up! We ordered many dishes, and amongst our favourites were the egg custard bun, along with the 'siu mai', 'har gao' and veggie dumplings, and the seasoned cuttlefish tentacles were a lovely dish we tried for the first time. Some items however were mediocre, such as the congee (not very flavourful) and the 'ham sui gok' was not properly prepared (the outer shell and insides were far too soft, and the filling was not as savoury as we would have liked). All in all, this restaurant is a good choice for a dim sum gathering. The food is good (not excellent, but satisfying with some memorable items), the restaurant has a pleasing ambiance and the location is fantastic. This being said, relative to other options in the area, the food is in my opinion not stellar. Read more
