Unionville Arms Pub & Grill - Markham, Ontario

We went there with our friends yesterday. It was so nice experience. All food was delicious. We sit near the window table, ambiance was so nice. Service was excellent, servers were so kind, cheerful, quick and interested. Prices were reasonable. We were so enjoyed. Thank you. We will come again

Burger was a double patty with cheese and bacon. The Arms Burger. $19.99. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great but not terrible. I probably won’t have it again as there are better burgers in other places but I will definitely try their other dishes. Wings were newly cooked and crispy on the ... outside. Pretty good. We got the salt & pepper. I would order it again. The salad with chicken was ok. Chicken was dry and a little more overcooked than should be but the greens were good. Dressing was regular. Overall, food is just ok 5/10 compared to burger or wing joints in Toronto but for Markham, it’s good enough. There aren’t a lot of excellent pub choices around this area. Patio vibe is excellent (for Markham) so it gets my 10/10 rating and for this, I’m just happy there’s a Unionville Pub & Grill. Service is 10/10 also. Attentive, friendly and prompt. Th e server didn’t tell us there were specials that day, I happened to see the “specials” board (outdoors) after the server had put in the order at the kitchen. The only thing they may want to improve is the quality of food, to be more on a par with food quality in Torontos pubs. However, if the goal is to hang out and have a bite with friends in the patio (not so much the food but more the vibe), this is the place to be. Read more

Even though we had a reservation of two, we got a small table and the space was bit congested. The service was nice and good. Overall price seems to be slightly higher. We ordered Wings, fries and calamari. Wings and calamari were delicious but fries could have been better. The ... portion served for Calamari is good enough to fill urselves. Read more

One of the most important elements of a restaurant experience is the service. I was blown away by the exceptional treatment I received on a takeout order. Bear in mind I’m not a regular at this establishment and I don’t usually tip on take out orders. I was greeted warmly and ... provided a menu. Then the greeter took my order and didn’t push for a tip. After placing order, I walked out and came back a bit later. As I stood at the bar area waiting, the cook preparing my order came straight over to me to verify the details of my order. Servers who walked by also greeted me in a friendly manner. At this point, I decided to tip them. When it was ready, he came out to hand it to me personally. Made sure I held the package properly to prevent spillage. He ended with a jaunty ‘happy to see you, have a nice day!’ and a friendly pat to the shoulder and I was on my way. At the door, I got a final friendly ‘goodbye, have a nice day’ from a random server. Now for the food itself: mediocre quality. The nachos had hardly any cheese. Small size, not worth $20. Salsa and sour cream quantity was also insufficient. So despite the exceptional service, I’m unsure about coming again. Perhaps just for a drink. Read more
