Excellent cake and pastries but one word. EXPENSIVE. I think this is what Duo's been known as from when they opened until present. The pastries are exquisite. I've ordered full size cakes and also small pastries from this place and it's always good. Recently, my brother had his 1 yr anniversary with his ... wife so we bought a soleil cake to celebrate the occasion. The sponge was fluffy yet moist and the mango cream was smooth as hell but one thing I didn't think worked well with the cake was the grapefruit. I know it was probably added to cut back on the sweetness of the mango but I just thought it was way too bitter and didn't actually work well at all with the rest of the cake. I'm not a master baker by any means but I think passionfruit would've been a much better complement to the cake than the grapefruit. I especially love the tart shells and lemon meringue at this place! Read more
Cute patisserie with creative pastries. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of the pastries because I was thirsty and tunnelvisioned on drinks. Had the matcha latte and black sesame latte. Both were very fragrant and well made and had the pretty leaf art on top. Service was very fast and helpful. ... Obviously, this place is quite popular because there was consistently a line despite the service being quite efficient. The atmosphere makes it a nice date spot should one be inclined to share something sweet with someone sweeter. Read more
Tried Mont Blanc and Avery, they were so delicious that I would come back. There were just too many beautiful cakes and even the brownie was so attractive. The staff was very patient and nice.
Fancy desserts and cakes. The cakes actually punch a great deal as the market price of a good birthday cake is very inflated right now (for Asian places). The pastries as absolutely top notch, if not the best place for pastries and desserts in Richmond-hill. Coffees are also excellent albeit ... can be a bit too strong (5 am angle if you drink it in the afternoon based on personal experience). My go-to place for spontaneous dessert runs. Read more
On my first visit to this coffee shop, I was impressed by the quality of their latte. It was one of the best I've had in Canada so far, with a rich and well-balanced flavor. They also offer a limited selection of gelatin-free options for sweets and pastries. I enjoyed a ... plain croissant, which was crispy on the outside and buttery and soft on the inside. Highly recommended! Read more
