Our family has been a loyal customer of this restaurant for many years. Not sure if they had an ownership change but today (Jun 25) for dinner - the portions of salmon sashimi were the thinnest I’ve ever seen. The rolls used to be real crab meat and ... now it’s imitation. No offer of tea by the waitress, when the food is handed to you, it’s at the edge of the table like we are going to a fast food restaurant, no spoons for noodles until we asked. Fresh quality and large cuts of sashimi. We ordered 2 large combo boats sushi, sashimi, and rolls, and 1 extra large boat sashimi and side dishes for 13 people...all were delicious. Well worth the price for what we got. Our group of 13 are big eaters, ... and we were stuffed. It was our first time there and didn't know how much food each large boat order was, and we ordered more than enough. There were lineups even after 1:30pm for lunch. Love the Japanese decor and the little private booths. Service was quick and friendly. Food was a bit of a let down though. Tempura was on the soggy side and the breading was thin. The rolls here are very big. I prefer bite sized sushi, ... but even with that said I've had better big sized sushi. The ingredient proportions in the sushi is off. The main ingredient (ex. lobster) was usually the smallest portion while the biggest would be the avocado. I'd prefer smaller sized rolls so that you don't need the massive avocado filler. I was really impressed by the décor; it really resembled a traditional Japanese home. Each table is enclosed in its own booth for privacy. The food, however, was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but wasn't up to par with other ramen places I have been to. The pork was a smidge ... on the chewy side, and I wasn't fond of the amount of veggies in the soup. Cozy restaurant with great service and food. I love how their seating arrangement offers some privacy, and the decor in the restaurant adds a lot of Japanese flair. Their ventilation was lacking when I was there - with so many customers ordering food on hot plates, the restaurant was stuffy. Their ... food is decent... but the portion is on a smaller scale. I'm not used to eating thin slices of sashimi and bite-sized sushi. Their specialty rolls, however, are ginormous and scrumptious!
