Noodle Star - Markham, Ontario

We have been here before and it used to be better but now it is pretty bad. I guess the management has changed since the last time we were here. The service was nice but only the manager really speaks English. The place itself looks ok but the plates are ... really small for some reason and the bathroom is in need of extensive cleaning. The food is just ok/meh. The portions suck with most meat dishes being 70% vegetable. The food isn't good anyways so you won't be wanting more of it. Fun fact: this is the first Asian restaurant where I didn't want to finish something because it was just badddd. Overall not worth the price at all, this place used to be good. Standard prices, food is mediocre at best. The noodle dish was bland and the meat was tough. The spicy tofu dish was not spicy.

Idk why this place has such good reviews. The waiters are nice, but the food is terrible, especially the HK style tea. The cups and chopsticks smelled bad and were stained, which is not a good look. We came here for the afternoon deal, but honestly was not worth it.

I come here to enjoy a taste of my homeland's version of fast food. The French toast here is great, and so are the noodle bowls.

Ordered the two dishes combo that also came with soup and dessert for two (rice not included) for only around $18 before tax. Asked the dishes to be cooked without MSG and the waiter offered addtional options such as 'less salt' & 'less oil'; exactly what I want when I'm ... out with my toddler and health conscious wife. The dishes had sizeable portion and tasted better than the other HK style congee restaurants that I have tried. Overall very good value and will definitely come back whenever I'm in the neighborhood.
