GM Restaurant - Maple Ridge, British Columbia

The food may be nice but this place is unsanitary and toxic. I heard from someone who worked here that the same tools used to clean the bathroom are kept in the same kitchen area where flour is. The rice is kept very close to the floor level, with people ... walking right above it and uncovered. On top of that, they treat their employees horribly. Treat people with respect if you want to have a successful restaurant. The reputation is getting ruined. They expected an employee to work with no set schedule, to come in at a moments notice and basically have no other life commitments other than to come into a toxic work environment on a whims notice. If they treated employees nicely, perhaps for minimum wage this would be 2% acceptable. The food we ate here also made us sick for about two days. They constantly are being checked for inspections for a reason. Avoid at all costs. Bad workplace that takes advantage of the employees. Read more

Today was my husband’s birthday and by the time dinner rolled around I was too tired to cook (throwing 3 parties in a month is fun but exhausting) so I decided to order out. My daughter has severe allergies and so I called GM and asked about some dairy AND ... coconut free dishes. With a solid option in hand I looked on the DoorDash menu and couldn’t find it. So I chose something that sounded allergen free and left a note. When my food arrived everything was there but they had also included a free dairy/coconut free dish for my daughter that was unexpected, delicious and the random act of kindness my heart needed. Thanks GM for going out of your way to bless our family and gift my daughter with food options - it can be hard as a 7 year old to constantly hear “sorry, you can’t have that.” Not pictured is the garlic naan bread - so delicious. The Best Authentic Indian food!! Madeline our server was fantastic. Chai was absolutely delicious, I ended up buying some of their tea to take home. I was super happy to see their sauces are sold at the grocery store as well. One of my favorite places to eat in ... Maple Ridge. Also the cheesecake is hands down THE BEST EVER!!! GM is always great food! For my birthday my husband said order from anywhere so I chose this. I also spoiled us with getting double of what we usually do. Taking time to read all the descriptions. Everything we ordered was absolute deliciousness.

First time at GM. We ordered a veg platter and a meat platter, and finished off with a slice of salted caramel cheesecake. Food was delicious, but lacking one star due to ordering a 5/10 spice level and the food was definitely lacking spice. Overall good experience and friendly service.
