Kitchen on the Ridge - Maple Ridge, British Columbia

We order take out from them at least once every couple weeks and are never disappointed. We both order combination plates and have it delivered by them because were less than 4km from them delivery is free and food is delicious

Finally found the best Chinese in the Maple Ridge. I was a walk in and ordered a combo for 1 bbq pork fried rice, ginger beef, and sweet n sour pork from David. I had a special request and he nailed the entire order. All the meat is tender, ginger ... beef was crunchy and not chewy, fried rice was perfect. Sweet n sour pork was good size bites and not all breading. Lastly the egg rolls were also perfect. Pros: Staff are quite nice. Cons: Everything else. Ordered a large Wor Wonton, asked if it was enough for 2 people and the girl said it was and so I ordered additional beef on top (not included). Turns out it wasn’t enough even with the extra meat I ordered and ... it coming with 10 wontons because they hardly put any broth in the soup and were inaccurate in the description of the large having more meat etc. This picture below is what I got which costed over $20! Not only that, the taste was VERY bland, the meat wasn’t tender, the wontons flavourless and nothing about it tasted like a wonton soup or Chinese food for that matter. I could make better Chinese food at home and I can’t even cook lol. Not only that, the time quoted for pick up was off. A guy who was waiting with me was quoted 15 minutes and told me he was already waiting there for 35 minutes and his food still wasn't ready. Mine was 10 minutes late too and it was just a soup. Very disappointed. I read good reviews so I was hoping I had found my new go to place. Too bad, won’t be ordering soup from here again but who knows maybe they have other items that are better. It might be an authentic hole-in-the-wall style place; but the food is fantastic and the prices are good. March 2023 The restaurant interior has had recent reno; and looks good. My Husband and I were craving chow mein over the weekend but didn’t feel like driving to pick up at our usual place (that doesn’t deliver to our location) so we decided to order delivery directly from Kitchen on the Ridge. We ordered on Saturday night at around 5:30pm and ... it was delivered right on time (within an hour). We ordered chicken chow mein, beef & black bean sauce crispy chow mein and almond chicken. It was all very delicious and fresh. Portions were huge so we had tons of leftovers which was great. We will definitely order from Kitchen on the Ridge again! Read more
