Mama’s Hot Italian Sandwich - London, Ontario

My dad and I loved going to the original owners of the hot Italian chicken sandwich shop, the chicken was huge, it went well outside the fresh bun, and it was so good! clearly new owners are a thing because the shop is filthy, Christmas lights still up, dirt and ... grime everywhere. No marked prices anywhere, and customer service that was almost uncomfortable. We couldn’t believe that we paid 40.00 for 2 sandwiches that had a jr chicken size chicken breast on the stale bun. It was ok. The sandwich was mostly bread. Got the large but for the near 15 dollar price expected more. Have had some amazing Italian sandwiches elsewhere for half the price. Still. The chicken was good

Been wanting to try Mama's for a while. The service was a tad slow.. but that was clearly because of a rush hour full of (apparent) regulars. My order was taken with a smile and I sat hoping that my choice of steak & onions with the works would be ... worth the short wait ... I watched the skill and grace of the one person behind the counter as they powered through the rush without missing a beat. Honestly I'm surprised I didn't have to wait longer.. my sandwich came out hot, fresh and flavoured exactly as I'd hoped. When I'm back in London I'll be heading back to Mama's. Read more

My boys and I went for lunch at mamas hot Italian today and it was delicious. I had the lasgna which was the special of the day and the boys had the meatball and a steak and veggies big sandwich. Love this place normally. This time my chicken sandwich tasted like the oil needed to be changed and was a little over cooked. Asked for light sauce that was good, got medium it had a nice bite to it and it was very cheesy. My husband got the meatball sandwich, ... it was a mess, couldn't eat it like a sandwich had to use a fork. He asked for hot and said it was good nice and spicy the way he likes it.
