Crabby Joe’s Tap & Grill - Listowel, Ontario

I normally don’t leave reviews as I am a server myself and have been for years but I was extremely disappointed in the lack of effort we were given by our server may 26th. We came in for “half price apps” and were not informed that the deal does not ... apply when you only get waters. For someone who rarely comes to Crabby’s we did not know this was a requirement for the deal to order drinks. If we knew of the drink rule we would have gotten more than waters. Found out only when the bill came and paid 47$ for 2 appetizers and weren’t given the discount as we had waters. Wish the servers would take the time to explain this rule knowing it is past 9pm. The wings in the crabby combo seemed undercooked and had no crisp to the breading. Food was not worth $50. As a server it is your responsibility to make sure all customers know of the specials and rules that apply. Never have once seen any management staff. Food was good. Waited until after 9pm for the half price apps, our waitress didn’t inform us that you had to get a drink for the deal. It was a good restaurant, food and service were great.

So to update. It has been a bit better but we only get takeout now. We used to like going to this place to eat. And I am not a person who like to put reviews But tonight really disappointed us. The food was mediocre The waitress never once came and asked us ... how everything was. She walked by our table, asked other tables. We had to wave her down to even get a refill. I had asked as soon as she brought the food. We were done for 15 minutes before she even came and said would you like a take out box. Was going to have dessert but she just walked away and got the bill and box. Then had to get her to change bill wrong prices. Will probably go back but will make sure we don’t get her again. Was visiting a client, and they suggested stopping by for lunch. I had the shrimp bowl. It was pretty ok except for the shrimp that felt were not quite right. The server was very nice and the place was clean.
