Onion Bar & Grill - Lethbridge, Alberta

Edit: I wish I could increase my rating but every visit has been a 5 star experience. I've now visited 3 times in the past few months and have had a great time. I've tried the burger, fish n chips, and most recently the beef dip. Wow, an amazing sandwich ... with great au jus. After I asked for more ketchup Jonas, the server, offered me extra au jus as well which i gladly accepted because I love drowning my beef dips until the bubbles stop. My wife really loves the sweet potato fries and deep fried califlower bites. Original: A friend and I chose The Onion because it was nearby. After our visit I wish I had tried it sooner! Food was amazingly good, I can't wait to return and try more menu items. Cozy atmosphere with a unique tiered seating arrangement. We had a new server who was great, I can't remember his name (Jonas) but it was his first day and he did a great job. I'll be back for sure to enjoy more of their delicious food. Read more

This has been one of my fav places since moving here 13 years ago! Food is affordable and always yummy! My kid loves the booths up top. The staff are typically good, and the overall appearance is good. In good condition, like no gross ratty carpets, tables are not ... chipped or stained booths don't have holes etc. Probably go a couple times a month. Read more

I did give 1 star as my companions meal beef dip was good & his draught Corona was Corona. My first time after living here 13+ years and very disappointed. I ordered cauliflower bites, over cooked tiny little pieces not even the whole bud, could hardly jab with fork. Ordered a ... small salad, it was sooo small for the price l paid. I ate both as l was hungry. Had 2 Gin & Tonic it was G&T. Server was prompt but not friendly, appeared to me she didn't want to be there. I don't know why l left 15% Tip. Never again will l go to this place. So many other great places l have ate at in this city and never once felt compelled to leave a bad review, reason l have is because for the price l would not recommend The Onion to anyone l know. Food was too good . Specially the Manager ( Aman) she treated us so well and drinks were also perfect. Highly recommended to everyone .

Ordered some nachos with beef,where in the heck was the beef? Was charged extra for the beef,but really nothing on my nachos! And I was charged almost $25 for this pathetic meal.
