Pop’s Taphouse & Grill West - Lethbridge, Alberta

The service was not that friendly, the food was alright but expensive, on appetizer 1/2 day still cost over $30 for the single app. that was just alright l, nothing spectacular. Vlts were as always be est thing at any place. Haha. Woot won decent there.

I went in with my friend and we weren’t even greeted by our server. Didn’t get a hi how’s it going, her name, specials, or anything. She just asked us for our ID’s which I get I’m also a server so but maybe introduce yourself and smile??? Then we ordered ... our food and she forgot my modification I made to my burger which I would’ve assumed would’ve happened because she didn’t have a notepad or anything and when I ordered she repeated a totally different burger back to me. Then when my friend was ordering she cut her off mid sentence and just walked away with our menus. We are eating our food I’m almost done my drink it’s not completely empty and she asks if I want another which I say yes and she TAKES MY DRINK AWAY. I was going to say something because I wasn’t even done with it and she was too fast and I didn’t get a chance to tell her I wasn’t done with it. Never have I went anywhere where my server has taken away a beverage from me when I wasn’t done with it. Maybe ask instead if I’m done with the drink that still has liquid in it and not take it away? The food isn't as great as it used to be, and the prices, like everywhere are getting high- but the service was fantastic, and our server was friendly and considerate.

The atmosphere here is great! The place always seems to be short staffed, that is why the 3 ***'s on that. I ordered the " Bucket of Bones," and that is exactly what I got. I had 3 pieces and sent it back because it was all bone. " Where's the ... beef," commercial came to mind. I then decided to try the more expensive Sesame Pork Bites. I only ate them because I was hungry, they are way too salty and actually quite small for a bite more like a tiny moral. The onion rings I have as an add on side for $7.00 were delicious. The coffee was not worth the $3.85, I could have saved my money and gotten a specialty coffee at a coffee shop for a few dollars more. My bill came to just under $27.00. Yes, I will go back with friends and or family but will either eat first and enjoy a few beer or get a steak dinner for $23.95. Read more

Pop's is a clean pub with billiards, and a lot of TVs. They also have a patio during the summer. We did lunch with a Reuben and cheeseburger soup, as well as a beef dip and cheeseburger soup. Some great taste, but that is all to perspective ... too. Tasted like there was pickles in the cheeseburger soup. Not my forte, but others will enjoy. And not that I don't like pickles, the combination just wasn't a homerun for me. And we got a "bucket" of ribs. Dry ribs, very tasty, served in a basket. Complimented with a pitcher of Canadian as it was the deal of the day. Worth returning? I'd say so. This was a first time experience and it looks like they have quite a few options on tap, so it will take a couple visits more to get a good grasp of what is available. Read more
