Ordered some hard-to-find condiments/sauces from them. I was a bit concerned because I knew nothing about them and didn't like the "suggestion" that a tip be added at checkout. 100% SEAMLESS TRANSACTION AND FAST DELIVERY. Will use them again. Absolutely 5*

If I could give zero stars for customer service I would. My family and I booked a cooking class last fall that was cancelled and we were not informed. When we showed up for the class our money was not returned, but we were put into another class in the ... spring and were told started at 6:00pm. When checking the website prior to the class we saw it said 5:30pm, so emailed to confirm. The owner, Patricia, stated it started at 5:00pm. Well we show up and its the wrong time. At this time we asked for our money back and the male owner said it would be returned, after not hearing back from them after a week, we phoned and the staff member told us it would be returned when the other owner, Patricia, returned from holiday. Well, that did not happen. She emailed blaming us and offered an at home meal kit (no thanks, that's not what we paid for). When asked for her to call us so we could discuss, we were ghosted and still have not seen our money. TERRIBLE customer service and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Read more

Were I closer, I'd love to shop in person, but unfortunately, I have to stick to mail order. Great selection for Thai ingredients, and they have become my go to for some harder to find South East Asian ingredients. Fantastic customer service as well. Had an issue ... with my last order where the wrong soy sauce was sent (easy mistake to make, the bottles are near identical), but they made it right in the end. Will continue to order! Read more

We just attended a Paella workshop with Patricia at Umami. It was SO MUCH FUN! It was much more than just a simple class it was an entire experience. It felt like being inside a story unfolding; learning the history and significance of the dish, the traditional way to prepare ... as well as the traditional way to eat. Highly recommend! Read more

Edid: March 2023. Still an interesting place to come. They have a wide variety of international foods. I came for hot pot ingredients and they didn't have nearly as much as I wanted, so I was a bit disappointed. I had a beef Vietnamese sub and while it tasted good I ... felt like it was swimming in sauce and could have used more meat. Service was good but not overly friendly. The three staff members seemed too busy to even say hello when we came in and never asked if we needed any help. The prices seem very high but I do understand that some of their items are hard to find or top quality. -We came in on a Sunday for some shopping and stayed for lunch, they had an interesting dim sum menu. We had some steamed BBQ pork buns, pork and shrimp dumplings, and onion donut. The steamed bum was delicious but the dumplings were greasy and didn't taste fresh. The onion donut was confusing and not very tasty. It was some kind of fried bread with onions sprinkled on top and was not very flavorful. I also had a tea latte and that was absolutely delicious!
