Lighthouse Japanese Restaurant - Lethbridge, Alberta

I've been to Lighthouse many times over the years and it has been both consistent and excellent every time.. until tonight. The vegetable tempura was seriously undercooked, to the point of being crunchy and not edible, and the tempura batter seemed off - not its typical crispy flavourful consistency I have ... grown to love. My Dad and I went here on his last night with me after dropping me off at my new home. The food was excellent, very fresh, and the service was amazing. I will definitely be going back in the future.

I’ve eaten in almost all Japanese restaurants in Lethbridge and I’s say they have the best tempura (also pickled ginger). The place is packed on weekends so make prior reservations. I don't know how to say this properly, This is the best sushi that I have ever tasted, and the selection of fish is incredible! Among the best in Canada! This place was very lovely and welcoming. The quality of the sushi was great, however the portion size was not that large. Cost was average. This wasn’t an all you can eat place. The seafood tasted clean and more fresh than other places I have tried in Lethbridge. The chicken ... bowl was flavourful with a good sauce to rice ratio. Chicken tasted fresh and moist. We finished it off which some ice cream and the green tea ice cream was delicious and perfectly sweetened. The server was very kind and knowledgeable. This is the place to go if you want to sit down with a friend for a quick bite. I also had a chance to try their appletini which was pleasantly delightful. Read more
