Wanted to like the place as it would be great not to have to travel to Vancouver for a good steak. Very disappointed for sure. Medium rare came in as medium. Wasn’t busy but hard to get service. Great ambience, service and food. Amazing cocktails and oysters. Nothing to complain about everything was great. Lots of parking to boot. Price is fair. Did I mention the cocktails. I had a perfect New York sour. Highly recommended

After spending a pleasant day at the Langley event center, we wanted a nice place to have dinner, and S@L was 2 minutes down the road. The outside is very nice and welcoming, as is the inside. The interior decor has lots of surprises from cows and knives on the wall ... to the fireplace in the woman's bathroom. We were constantly looking and exploring with our eyes. The menu was a marvel to look at, and we decided to have the seafood tower along with the potato rolls and prosciutto asparagus. This was almost too much food for 3 people. But to finish off the meal we had the black forest chocolate bomb. It was a very nice way to finish the meal as a share plate between the 3 of us. Overall, we had excellent service from Abby, and food to table time was extraordinary. Everyone chipped in to deliver food and take plates away. This is the way to run a restaurant. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review is the chips of wood missing from all around the dining room, and it felt like my seat on the bench was falling apart. After passing by almost daily, I finally decided it was time to check out S&L Kitchen! I just happened to be starving after a hike, and it was happy hour! The food and ambience surpassed my expectations. We got there around 3:30pm, and the patio was half full. Lots of space ... and ample parking. Unlike many restaurants, the music wasn’t overly loud so you can have a conversation. There were only 2 servers, but they were busy and working hard. We got 6 oysters ($2.25 each), the Wagyu beef dip, and S&L cheeseburger. The oysters were very fresh and pretty decent sized, and the burger and beef dip were perfectly done!! So tasty, as were the fries. There was so much food between myself and the other diner (a guy), we had to pack some food to go.
