Happy Valley Market - Langford, British Columbia

They sold my 10 year old son bad milk! Today is may 20 and the best before date is may 15! We opened it and it was bad!! They didn’t give him a receipt either so I can’t take it back. I’ve been there many times over the last five ... years because we live near by and my kids like to get treats from there. I’ve often noticed that they have expired products for sale. When they changed ownership that problem was temporarily better, but now I can see they’re back to their old ways. I hadn’t bought anything there for quite some time for that reason. Some of the pre-packaged stuff is ok. ALWAYS CHECK THE DATES at this place, they don’t have the integrity to remove bad products from the shelf. The fact that they ripped off a child makes me sick. I managed this little hole in the wall for 5 years, and I can tell you that it has absolutely everything. It's hours are Not the latest, but if you get there before nine pm you're usually good to go ( Unless they have a newbie on that closes five ... minute early or something) it's always switching up It's selection of product., and most of the time the staff are friendly and helpful. This was once my go-to convenience store, as it is very close-by. And as for someone who doesn't own a car, it's easy to get to in such a crowded residential area. These past few months I've noticed a steady decline in cleanliness. Today was the worst I've ever seen ... it. When you approach the chip isle you'll notice a thick, pungent odor. One that is unmistakenly belonging to rodents. Upon closer inspection I noticed there were rodent droppings all around the cardboard supporting the chips. I instantly turned around and left the store. If this is the cleanliness standard for the business, I believe they should have their doors closed. One of the main reasons I'm offended is because of their in-store kitchen just metres away from the chips where they cook food. A kitchen's cleanliness needs to be of the highest priority. If this is can be so easily seen by the customer, I'd be terrified to know what the back of house looks like. I think this building needs to be inspected by the proper authority. You can't expect to serve food to the general public, take their money, and potentially make them sick. I won't be spending my money here ever again. Read more

Always allow homeless ppl Ross their garbage on the side and then it sits there for months not caring that it attracts flies and smells. The female cashier is not helpful due to language barrier and I’ve noticed majority of their produce is expired, YUCK! And still charge full price, ... when brought to their attention all I got was a shrug… disappointing. But live there restaurant inside very tasty!!! Read more

Normally I would give a mediocre review but since my credit card is being charged twice for the same transaction and their phone number is no longer in service, I will only give this market one star. I go to this store as it's very convenient and close but ... there is now an issue with double charging my card and I am done with them commenting on my appearance. One day I wear a dress and the next I am in there in a ball cap and shorts and told I look like a boy. I don't really care as society is a little too sensitive at times but put this all together and I won't be going back. I will drive out of my way from now on Read more
