The Village Bistro - Kitchener, Ontario

well we came here for the first time today based on some good things i heard about it. i am sad to say we were not impressed with the food. service was good, but we were the only ones there also. the chicken parmesan i ordered was very small ... and so thin it curled on the edges. the penne pasta(said spaghetti on menu) was harder than del dente and very dry with the limited sauce it was tossed in. garlic toast was just grilled white sandwich bread with some garlic seasoning. we noticed one of the cooks run to giant tiger and come back with what looked like a can of something with tomato's or tomato sauce in it. could of been for my chicken parm, but cant say for sure. my wifes burger was well done and hard on the edges. it was not appealing and tasted bland. her tossed salad was ok but did have some rusty pieces in it. now we were there before the normal dinner hour, but it seemed like they were not prepared to serve as the lasagna i originally wanted would not be ready for an hour or so. overall i rate it 2 out of 5 stars and probably wont be back.
