J & B Family Restaurant - Kitchener, Ontario

Great food, larger than normal, taste great. We have two people order a meat platter but we have 1/3 leftovers for takeout home after we tried all of our best to eat as much as possible. The owner is so friendly. The interior looks traditional and spacious. Little square with free parking.

Great eastern european restaurant. I had the lapinja a pillowy bread served with soft cheese. It was huge and cheap for an appetizer! It was war. And so delicious. Then i had the J&B schnitzel which is a pork cutlet stuffed with soft cheese and wrapped in proscuitto then fried ... to a crisp. It was huge and filling and came with a ton of veggies. Recommended to me by a friend, I went for dinner with my young adult kids. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating (they created a meal that was meat and dairy free for me). The food tasted amazing and the portions were generous. Tasted like it was made with love ... in a quaint Serbian kitchen. I’d highly recommend (make reservations if you’re going on a weekend!) Went in on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. Google Maps somehow took us to the back of the restaurant & we had to come all the way to the front. Service was impeccable and warm. The waitress was the sweetest person that we met in a while. Had the sole with almonds ... and fettuccine Alfredo with shrimps. Both the sea food items were fresh and the sole consistency was just perfect. And you have to order the home fries as a side. They are just something by themselves. The pasta didn't look like much but I had changed my opinion by the end of my meal. The portions are worthy for the price you pay. What a lovely, understated, excellent establishment. We stopped for a late lunch…. We were not disappointed and pleasantly surprised!! Had the chevaps and sauerkraut. Delicious!! Schnitzel was delicious and right up there with the best of em!! Definitely would return and can highly recommend, if you like home cooked European cuisine. Definitely worth ... stopping in!
