TWH Social - Kitchener, Ontario

My recent visit to TWH was delightful! We absolutely loved the oysters, they were fresh and delicious, perfectly complemented by the sauces that came with them. (My favourite was the spicy one 😋 it was the perfect amount of heat and added a nice kick to the oysters) The vibe here ... is fantastic! The patio is always vibrant and lively but I just discovered the restaurant/bar inside and the ambiance is equally beautiful and inviting. A big shoutout to Miro, who truly made our experience exceptional, his friendliness and attentiveness were much appreciated. A special mention also goes to Karolina, she crafted an amazing mocktail that was refreshing and flavorful. I can’t wait to return and try more items on the menu. Highly recommended! Read more

Today, I thought I'd try a new place to treat myself to a nice brunch. I was NOT disappointed! My first awesome surprise was the tea pot that I was given; it was huge! Unlike the common metal ones that hold a cup and a half as best (and drip ... like crazy) I was given this beautiful brown teapot that would be enough for at least 3! No extra tea or water needed at this table? My go-to for brunch is usually an eggs Benedict, because I'm not going to make it at home. Because of this, I've had a lot of the local Benedicts, and I think this one might surpass almost every other Benedict in the area! The hollandaise was rich and flavourful (not too flour-y, and definitely not bland), the eggs were perfectly done, and everything came out hot. The potatoes were also amazing, and were the only reason my second egg wasn't as warm to eat as the first! 😉 I also have to give a shout-out to my server Niharika. She took excellent care of me and even offered me a take out cup (with an extra tea bag!) For the tea I didn't finish at the table. She anticipated everything I might need. This place was really nice, great atmosphere, where we were sitting it felt private & nice in this way.. The drinks & food were great & everything that passed by looked awesome, plus the prices are great for a place you can dress up & go out to. The only ... thing we said was, it would be nice if we could hear a bit more music. It was super quiet it might as well have been off. A live band would be amazing there, especially underground it would sound amazing. As a singer it would be a great idea hehe! Read more

The 4 of us went to TWH SOCIAL specifically for the social burger, which in the past, has been the reason we keep coming back. However, tonight was the biggest disappointment ever! The burger served was barely comparable to a fast food restaurant. Thin patty didn’t appear to be house ... ground brisket, no cheese or arugula and not served on a brioche bun. And the sad quality of fries should not have been served. No management available to speak to about our concern. Serving staff, not really capable of listening to a client’s concern. This burger was not as described on the menu. This burger does not match the poster at the restaurant. And the 4 of us have had this burger at least 5 times in the past to know what it supposed to look like and taste like. This was the saddest dry thin patty, masked as the social burger. Stayed at the Walper Hotel and had dinner at TWH Social. From the lobby it’s down the hall and downstairs. Restaurant is very spacious. There is dining room seating, bar seating and several booth tables in the bar area. There is also another section in the back of the dining ... room that looks like an area for private parties. Our server Claire was wonderful, friendly, and attentive. The menu offers a good variety of options with 2 soups plus a soup of the day. Very happy for this soup lover. Unfortunately they did not have a soup of the day ready for dinner so I opted for one of the 2 soups regularly on the menu. We ordered: Calamari $20 - made fresh, large pieces, light crispy batter, jalapeño aioli. Oh so good. Butternut squash soup $8 - rosemary flavour with cream. Excellent flavour and texture, and actually served steaming hot not lukewarm like a lot of restaurants these days. Orange. Fennel & Shrimp $18 - black tiger shrimp, orange, radish. chives, tomato + lemon vinaigrette. Light and refreshing, oranges were sweet and comes with a good amount of shrimp. 14oz Dry Aged Ribeye $48 - 28 day dry aged, celeriac mash purée, vine tomato, green beans, red wine jus - delicious Would highly recommend this place and plan to return if we are ever in this area again.
