Interesting place near Hess village in Hamilton. My wife and I we here with another couple for a nigh ton the town. We arrived and were seated promptly, however the waiter took a very long time to come over and take our drink order. Once he had ... our drink order he forgot about us and our drinks, luckily the hostess was able to get us our drinks so our evening could begin. The food was tapas style and we shared various menu items among the four of us. The food was all very delicious and I would go back to try some other items off their menu. All in all great evening, I would suggest the owners hire some additional staff as it was just the hostess and the waiter working the front of the house. Read more

Big Tobacco exceeds every single expectation I had of it. To me, it's THE gourmet experience of Hamilton. I was here for a special occasion and got the Grand Tasting Menu. Every single dish we had was a combination unique, top notch ingredients and masterful cooking, with beautiful presentation to ... match. We had 7 courses of what I'd consider to be ambrosia presenting a whole range of different flavors and at the end I could barely keep my belt on. With no hyperbole, this is the best cuisine experience in Hamilton to my knowledge. The restaurant was also tastefully decorated and quite intimate. There was no obnoxious blasted music which made it easier to talk and enjoy your company. I also liked the decor inside. We had the whiskey tasting to match and the selection presented was top notch. We were blown away by the food and service. Seriously the best meal we've ever had!! We went for our anniversary and opted for the chefs tasting menu. We got to try the lamb, duck, truffle ravioli, beef cheek and pork belly! Each dish was intricately prepared using ... local ingredients. I absolutely love how the chef comes to the table to describe and talk about each dish. We ended the dinner with their salted caramel dessert. I'm still dreaming of it, heavenly! Amazing food. One of the best meals I've ever had for a ridiculously reasonable price. Service was slow to start but very attentive once the meal was rolling. I tried the taster menu for one and it was so much amazing food. The beets, were sweet and perfectly done, Brussels ... sprouts had a very subtle and suave taste. The truffle gnocchi was amazing and creamy and the breaded pork chop with cream of spinach may be one of my favorite dishes ever. One of the best meal experiences I've had recently in Hamilton. And there are lots of options these days. We were welcomed into this cozy space and menu recommendations were made. We decided to have the Family Tasting Menu paired with the Whiskey Tasting Menu. Nic was awesome ... and walked is through each menu tasting, both plate and whiskey. Starting with a little southern hospitality, we were offered a taste of Writers Tears, on the house to get us started. Cheddar house made biscuits, followed by a beet and ricotta salad...We scraped the bowl. Four roses bourbon paired well with the Hot Chicken in white bread served with house-made pickles. The buttermilk soaked chicken was crispy and juicy with some heat. Next was the short ribs served on a pumpkin puree. The meat was fork tender and delicious. Definitley our favourite dish. Dessert was a honey cake with vanilla cream served in a pool of salted caramel sauce. Service was impeccable and friendly. Nic proved to be quite knowledgable and happy to share thoughts on his whiskey offerings. They are planning to do some whiskey tastings in the future. Love that idea.
