I used to go there to drink Rickard's Red on tap while I studied for my McMaster exams. I took my mom there for Mother's Day brunch once. To my recollection, the food was good, but over-priced. I had the fish & chips. Pan fried perch on a bed of lentils so tender and flavourful, fresh cut fries seasoned perfectly with sea salt and lemon grass. This was perfectly executed and delicious. This dish is incredibly tasty and my new favourite. WELL DONE!!!! SUPERB!!!!

went for a dinner on December 1st.my birthday to Acclamation. The welcoming was horrible.... oh you are lucky we are open. after waiting for a while at the door. The service was horrible. we requested te sirloin well medium, and medium rare. after waiting for so long, the ... meat came all rare. I had to give my piece to my husband was raw. the 4 half piece of baby potatoes were salty and the sauce was very good. couldn't eat the 2 half raw baby carrots and the cauliflower because it was raw and old . We were not able to complain. The guy that was serving us did not come to us or he was not around.. paid $83 for tasting the sauce. Shouldn't give the 15% tip. stupid us. will not go back at all. as food critic, this restaurant from 0 to 10 -0. So disapointed. Read more

There seems to have been some kind of change at Acclamation. I work across the street and I go over once a week and get the calamari. Its amazing. But last week, I ordered the calamari - not good. Sauce was good, calamari itself was cold and tasteless. My ... wife had the salmon. It smelled fishy, which it shouldn't once it is cooked. And it didn't flake. It was mush in the middle. Not good, again. 2 of 4 dishes that are usually a slam dunk at Acclamation. The waitress was lovely and gracious. But when we left my wife said 'Maybe next time somewhere else'. Yikes, I hope not. Wow. Everyone else seemed to have a good experience at this place. Nice joint, but the food sucked. There were five of us, all ordering different things, and no one really liked their dish. Its as though the cooks didn't care. We ordered the steak wrapped asparagus for an app. Four ... pathetic pieces of asparagus with a little bit of steak arranged dramatically across the plate. And it cost as much as the heaping antipasto plate we ordered. The least they could have done was made five of them so we could each have one. Came to about $300 for five of us.
