Hutch’s - Hamilton, Ontario

The fish was average and the fries were bad- too thick cut and soggy. The ice cream was the only decent thing we tried. Would recommend skipping the fries, and perhaps trying the hot dogs or burgers instead of the fish. The location is the only good thing about this place.

Had to wait for 20 minutes to walk in, then another 40+ minutes to get the food. We were probably hyped up cause lot of the people waiting in line was saying it's the best fish and chips you're gonna have. Hutch’s is tucked right on Van Wagner’s Beach which is super convenient! The food was good for what we got, it was $17 for fish and chips (large) which was quite reasonable. Very beautiful scenery as you sit depending on where, you can see the beach. If you’re outside you can hear the sound of its beauty. There’s a long beach strip you can walk while you eat your ice cream or sit and have some food as well on the benches outside ... or inside. I got some fries this time and they were a disappointment. Typically it’s not bad fries. Today however it was a mix of old and new. As you can feel the temperature of the new which was very few. Unless it was old cold fries they gave us and a few newly fried ones were on top. Ideally the bottom fries should be hotter than the top fries. Nope they were stone cold and soggy. It saddened me as I was so looking forward sharing a nice hot hutches fries with my friend while visiting. The fish is overly battered and too sweet of a batter. Wow a very nice location on Lake Ontario in Hamilton . The fish and chips were cooked right! The taste was very good . Excellent value ! The fries were awesome and the gravy will please the gravy lover . So very good! The ice cream was so creamy and ... tasty . You must get ice cream there .
