Fsh & Chp - Hamilton, Ontario

It was AWESOME! The best fish & chips I have ever had!! Very tasty, cosy environment and nice staffs! I have been here twice and again I believe it was amazing!

Delicious food, friendly service, nice decor. Very friendly waitress that was very attentive but not overbearing. The food was a little pricey for being mostly fried, but acceptable for location. Didn't expect too much from Fsh & Chp and was pleasantly surprised. I've had better fish and chips in the GTA, but this place stands on its own. The space was neat and clean, though it was small. I went in the winter, and the little curtain they have to block ... out the cold whenever the door opened was highly ineffective. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Fry in a Box, which includes one piece of haddock, hush puppies, battered shrimp and fries with ketchup, remoulade and curry mayo. I subbed for cod instead of the haddock. The shrimp and hush puppies were good. I also liked their fries; they were slim cut and slightly sweet. The fish was fresh, but the batter was slightly too heavy. It wasn't all crispy and was a bit too greasy. I felt both the remoulade and curry mayo were too fatty and thick to accompany the already-heavy fried foods. They're good in small amounts, but too much as main condiments. I mainly went for the tangy ketchup more. All in all though, this was a good experience. To be honest, I did not expect that Fsh & Chp would meet the rave reviews it's gotten. I was not that impressed with HAMBRGR when I went, which was a good but not especially exceptional experience. Fsh & Chp is an amazing restaurant. Every dish we ordered was spectacular. Drunken ... shrimp seasoned perfectly and cooked to an amazing standard using exceptional ingredients. Lobster tacos with big chunks of succulent lobster doused with tasty toppings and sauce, served on a crunchy tortilla. Crab cakes that brought to mind the ocean with one bite, accompanied by an assortment of other ingredients that mixed up the flavors as you ate them. And of course, the best darn Fsh & Chp I've ever had. Perfect crunchy, large portions of Haddock and a healthy heaping of accompanying sides. There's nothing more you can ask from a Fsh & Chp place. Nice little restaurant with option to sit on the patio just outside. We've heard all the rave about their fish and chips so we decided to try their tacos.
