Reviews for Wass Ethiopian Restaurant in Hamilton, Ontario
This was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and I absolutely loved it. Me and my husband had a delicious dinner, thanks to the host Yonas. We tried the lamb wat with rice, chicken wat with ingera and for starters, we had the samosas with Ethiopian coffee. The taste was ... superb and the portion size is very good. I also liked the traditional music and the ambience of the place which is soothing. Thank you, we will surely visit again! Read more
Superb food! It was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and certainly not my last, especially at Wass! Had the Chicken Wat with Injera and I must say it was delicious with a large portion size as well! My wife had the Lamb Wat with rice which was amazing as well! Very good ... Ethiopian coffee too! Hats off to Yonas and Wass! We will see you again 😁 Read more
Went to Wass while visiting Hamilton on the recommendation of my daughter. The food was excellent - I had the Vegetarian Combo - as was the service. Loved the atmosphere and the music. Highly recommended!
Will be going back! I love love love the food. You have to be OK with eating with your hands. What I liked is that there was variety in flavors. I get tired of food spiced with just salt and pepper. All the food was unique and distinct. The service was a ... bit slow. Expect to wait a while for things. I've only been 1 time, so perhaps the staff was shorthanded?? I don't always mind long waits, but order an extra drink or two while you're there. The actual location was fine. Nothing fancy. It's expensive to keep things updated or repaired, but a little effort would be appreciated. Regardless! You should go, be patient, bring some good people to converse with, and enjoy! Read more
This place is a Hamilton institution for a reason. Good food, quick respectful service, decent prices. It comes through every time. This was our kids' first time and they loved it too! Even with multiple years between visits this remains a reliable delicious treat!
