The Brew Cafe & Bar - Hamilton, Ontario

The atmosphere was quite cool. My first time there on Friday. We ordered the nachos which were normal nachos, fresh chicken. Nothing really to write home about, but not bad at all either. The beer was good, when we had beer... which is where the concern ... lies. Twice our table had empty glasses on the table and when we looked for our server they were on their cell phone (sitting) both times. When we finished our second we decided it was time to move on but it took quite a long time to get our bills too. We did enjoy the beer and food as much as any pub, but were slightly disappointed in the service. I do hate to complain and be negative but I was shocked by all of the wonderful reviews. Our server was pretty nice but it's a good thing to know (if you care) that nothing is deep fried, everything is baked. I did not enjoy the quality of my food, ... the fries were an odd texture and hard to eat and the burger was just off (bacon not as cooked and the cheese was definitely processed), my pop was kind of warm. It seemed that workers kept walking in and out, and our server, as nice as he was, did juggle our food over while having his cellphone in his ear; and when we ordered our appetizer he came back a VERY long time after to then finally take our actual order (it was not busy). Unreal service great food great evening events functions. Best value in Hamilton.

This is such an amazing local hangout with great staff. The owner Kris is such a kind, generous, hard worker. Every time I go in he is there working away. They have so many amazing Ontario Craft Beers (Cameron's being my favourite) and the food is always delicious. I love supporting a ... local business where the staff treat you like family. I even complained about a drink once and it was remade without a question asked. Keep an eye on their social media too because they always have great deals. For Canada Day they had $1.50 pints! This place was a warm welcome on a cold night. My friends and I were looking for a place that had a bit of everything so we could all get something different. This place came up in the search bar and we figured we give it a shot. Well worth ... our time. Comfortable seating and friendly staff really made our night. Food and drinks were delicious and the price was right. Definitely going back. They also have a chalkboard wall you can draw on. Read more
