Absolutely amazing. Service, food and atmosphere well exceeded my expectations. This is a must try for everyone. We must support local restaurants especially Mattson. Very clean and the owner was attentive and very pleasant. Will definitely return. Today we went here again for dinner. ... It is my absolute favourite restaurant. Ron the owner is so attentive, we met Steve, their chef and he is so talented and our palettes are satisfied. Excellent! Beef tenderloin cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. **edit. Returned for 35th Birthday and was not disappointed by the food and we had really nice window seat. They could be a bit more careful with reservations though as they said stay as long as you'd like to finish coffee however ... still felt was being rushed to get next group seated. We weren't there an unusually long amount of time for our meal. Shouldn't be feeling rushed out the door after your $300 tab is paid. All and all though this is a really beautiful restaurant with really good food. Read more

My wife and I had a wonderful time here for our first wedding anniversary. The staff is VERY attentive and the food is served in a timely manner. Granted, it is a more expensive restaurant (our salad was $16 and my duck breast was $34) but the atmosphere is casual ... but classy. We enjoyed ourselves. Read more

My husband, father in-law and I stopped in for an impromptu brunch last month and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The waitress, Ellie, was gracious enough to sit us under a large umbrella on the patio since it was such a hot day. The food was great - their brunch special that day ... was a pulled chicken waffle and oh my God, so decadent! I had their chorizo "Scotch" egg and loved it. My father in-law had the Mattson Co breakfast and said it was great. His only complaint was the bacon was a bit too overcooked and dry. Otherwise, he enjoyed everything. The highlight of our visit was Ellie though, she was so talkative and sweet. We are definitely looking forward to coming back for an evening dinner with live jazz. Great little Hamilton gem. I came here last week and I had the best waiter ever! His name was Shawn and he was just so awesome I wanted veggies for starters and it wasn't even on the menu but he spoke to the cooks and he made it happen for me I then had ... my dinner and wanted something vegan for dessert and they didn't have it..... but then again Shawn made it happen for me! ^_^ O & by the way the food was great I can't wait to go back again.
