Woodward Restaurant - Hamilton, Ontario

I've been going here since literally 1983, and whomever is managing it now in the recent year is letting it go completely downhill. It wasn't even busy and we waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken and 45 minutes for our food. We did not understand the delay ... to have our order taken. There was not a lineup waiting for tables. The girl said "I'll be there in a few minutes" and started clearing tables!!?? That makes absolutely no operational sense to me. You take care of your customers, put the order in and THEN start clearing tables when no one is even waiting for them. This restaurant used to have the best scrambled eggs anywhere. The cook just knew how to make them perfect. This time, they came overcooked to brown and yet the boiled potatoes were cold. The only thing this place has going for is the price point, but it's not much of a deal if it's a horrible experience, right? I hope this helps the management and current staff to improve (even though I don't see them in the reviews here taking accountability). I would hate to see this place go out. I had the opportunity to try this little hidden gem! I love breakfast & always looking for a new spot to try. This spot has been here for quite some time, but I just discovered it & I am very happy that I did!! Food was amazing. I got Dave's favorite ... omelet w/ a side of fries. Nice size portions for the price!! The omelet didn't disappoint! Very well cooked & tasty!! The server we had was wonderful (sorry I couldn't remember her name) Very friendly! The staff was very friendly and helpful, the tables were clean and the coffee was great. Good size portions and reasonable prices. Lots of parking available.

I drive by every day and often wonder what it's like and say some day I'll stop in. Well, last weekend was "the day". Bright, super clean and cheerful staff and the food was great. I like my eggs poached and they were perfect! Prices are in ... line and portions were huge. It will become our regular "go to" breakfast place. Only open until 2pm!! Lots of breakfast options too.
