This restaurant boasts a fully vegan and vegetarian friendly menu that does not compromise on taste. For this breakfast experience, we ordered the Just Benedict and fully loaded waffle sandwich. If I didn't know that the English muffin or the egg was vegan, I wouldn't have been able to tell. ... The vegan Hollandaise sauce was creamy if a little acidic, but it came together nicely as a whole sandwich. If you could only get one thing off the menu, I would 100% recommend the waffle sandwich. The waffle was easily one of the best waffles I've had with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top. It was perfectly crispy and soft on the inside while being extremely tasty and perfect on its own or as a sandwich. The cold brews were relatively average, so nothing to complain about but nothing to draw me here either. The restaurant itself has an industrial feel with wood features and plants throughout. The washrooms were relatively clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this as a casual breakfast or brunch location especially for vegetarians and vegans. Had an absolutely lovely experience Saturday at Democracy! Despite us forgetting to inform them of a small allergy, they immediately accommodated us. They were so kind about it and we greatly appreciated it. A new favourite spot! Thank you!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the mimosa flights. Thought they were so cute and unique flavors. Went for a birthday breakfast with my sister and partner who aren't vegan. My sister got the cauliflower wings and avocado toast. She said the toast was quite chewy and the wings weren't great. My boyfriend ... got the democracy breakfast and said the toast wasn't great either but the rest was pretty good! I got the just eggs Benny, which was pretty good overall but was really cold. Today was my first time visiting this place and I was pleasantly surprised. I was very happy with the menu since everything was vegan, and that made my heart happy!! Cool place. Love that all the items are vegan, the coffee is great, sweets are great, the only reason it loses a star for me, is that the brunch was meh… I got an edamame avocado toast (which I really appreciated the added protein) but the bread was chewy.
