Wilson St. Bar and Grill - Hamilton, Ontario

Much preferred it when the Brown Dog / Brown Bean was in this location. Went with a friend for a beer, servers were friendly but basically ignored us to the point where I wasn't sure if I had to go up to the kitchen to ask for food. Same thing ... when we wanted our bill. I think they were busy with a bigger party upstairs but still kinda frustrating to have to wait so long for our bill. Also - weirdly decorated / set up. Not a very cozy or homey, or even modern feel. Kinda looks like a laundromat. Maybe the upstairs is nicer though. Next time I will just wait for a table at the Coach & Lantern. Read more

I don't plan on going back. There was another table that got mad because they never received there order. They were there before us and we received our meals even though they had already ordered when we came in. They had already complained and ... waited about another half hour and then left. I didn't receive any dressing with my salad because they said they were out of the Mango Chipole dressing so they just didn't give me any with my salad. When I ask for ranch the waitress brought two little cups of it with her napkin sticking out of one of them. She pulled the napkin out and asked if she should get me another one for me. Ambiance is great! We went for paint nite party and decided to go early for a bite to eat. We had a party of 4 and waited quite a long time for food. 2 of us ordered the beef dip, 1 chicken fingers and fries and the other buffalo chicken ... wrap and poutine. The fries were not done but the rest of the food was good. We also found the draught beer to be expensive. Our server was great for lunch, and the bartender for paint nite was great as well. I love this place. The staff have been consistently excellent in every way each time I have been there, and the food always tastes great. I look forward to opportunities to eat these guys.

Tried this place out yesterday and I would personally never come here again after my experience. I went with a friend" and I ordered the chicken fingers and fries while she ordered the vegetarian burger with onion rings. The food arrived at a decent time but one of the orders ... was slightly incorrect. Instead of onion rings she received fries. This mistake was brought up to the waitress right away and the fries were replaced with onion rings in literally 20 seconds. I thought this was very strange considering there weren't many other costumers in the restaurant therefore the rings would most likely not have been made fresh and it doesn't take 20 seconds to make onion rings. Not much to my surprise the onion rings were soggy and didn't taste quite right so I can only assume that they were really old rings that were sitting out for sometime. As for my meal, the chicken fingers were a little burnt and dry. To top things off, half way through our meal my friend bit into a big piece of hard PLASTIC!!!! in the middle of her vegetarian burger. After seeing that we were were both disgusted and immediately stopped eating and started to wonder what else we could have possibly ingested. Thankfully they comped both our meals. Read more
