Anchor Bar - Hamilton, Ontario

The food including the fish and chips, hot wings and buffalo poutines were all worth the detour on our drive back to Chicago from Canada. The server was hospitable and accommodating. I would definitely recommend!

I'm kind of questioning myself now after reading the reviews. My experience with the Anchor Bar was great. I enjoyed my food. My server did not harass me non stop during my meal. Absolutely terrible experience. They had a limited menu as we went right after a nearby event, that's fine. They weren't busy at all. I had their "famous wings," they were terrible. Overcooked and dry. Other people said their meals were just okay. The service was the worst part however. We ... were a group of 9, so a 20% gratuity was automatically included on the bill. That was to be expected, however our server seemed to take that to mean she could provide us with as minimal service as possible, since she was getting a guaranteed big tip. After bringing out the food, she barely checked on us, and failed to being the extra napkins we asked for. We had to wait for at least half an hour before we could flag down another server to ask for our bill, and then we still had to ask a second time.
