Velos Pizza - Halifax, Nova Scotia

Been loving this places donair pizza tonight stopped by in person for the first time rather then ordering for delivery the stuff is great and the donairs are top notch, however one piece of advice would be to allow for a bit more meat

Wasn't very good: I ordered the large cheese pizza for delivery, it wasn't much to write home about. First, the presentation was awful. Just a plain white pizza box, pizza appeared to be smushed around the edges, the slices weren't cut evenly... overall just a poor presentation. Now for the pizza... The cheese was a ... strange blend of mozzarella and what tasted like provolone. I like provolone cheese, but on a traditional cheese pizza it's not my taste. The cheese was quite strong and overwhelmed the rest of the pizza. The sauce was too tangy, and quite frankly tasted like canned tomato sauce. It wasn't good. Now the crust... It started off decent, it's a light crust, on the thinner side, which is okay with me. But when I got halfway through the pizza I realized it wasn't fully cooked. Parts of the crust were still quite doughy and raw in some spots. Overall this pizza was quite bad... a strange mixture of trying to be 'different' with the cheese choice, yet not taking the time to make sure the pizza was cooked all the way through. Read more

Delicious. Ordered a medium works, small garlic fingers and onion rings. The price was great but the food is better. The pizza has good toppings but you may want to know it's pep under the cheese, still good just some have a preference. The sauce is nice, not spicy and not sweet, your ... basic pie sauce. The crust is fantastic and the cheese is a solid amount. The garlic fingers are mildly garlicy with a damn fine amount of cheese. I'd totally order from here again if I was looking for a good pie, good price and something that seems like they have made it the same way a million times. Read more

I am a faithful Velos fan, as you could tell by the pizza boxes we have in our Kitchen, ready to get recycled. I absolutely love their 5 topping sale. I enjoy getting my pizza from there. Now I am crazy hungry for it.

The BBQ Chicken Pizza is so amazing! These guys also make the traditional Halifax donair the way it should be made - THICK SAUCE - deices veggies... Soft warm pita... This place is a must visit. The family who owns it is also very nice, and has a long history of quality food ... service in Halifax! Read more
