I usually don't go out to eat that often, but this donair place was very good. The food was delicious, and the staff was really welcoming.The friendly and attentive service made the experience even better. I'll definitely be going back!

You got to try the place out to see for yourself but believe me the portions are satisfying. The taste is top of the market. My wife and I visited King of Donair in Lacewood for the first time today. Great service (the lady servicing us took time to wash her hands after handling the till, which not all food servers do) and she was very pleasant and efficient. We thought the food was ... good and well priced! Highly recommended!! 😁 The one negative for us was that using our debit card led to us being prompted to pay a tip (which is normal), but then, surprise… King of Donair charges you a 40 cent merchant surcharge for spending your money there ! Sneaky and poor business toward your customers. It wasn’t much and we reluctantly paid it… but after reading that others feel equally duped by the secretive nature of the charge, management would be wise to absorb this fee. Read more

I will say it's a little difficult to be objective with this review since I am an out of towner. I can understand this kind of donair is different from others. So just to pick on the food itself, I will start that the value is there. For a cheapish ... bite of East Coast donair, it's not bad. The quality of meat is okay, compared to other shawarma spots it is flavourful. If you're not from the East Coast be warned they use a sweet sauce not a garlic one. It is certainly not my preference and caught me off guard. Also got these garlic bites and the seasoning is delicious but the texture is almost eating stale but chewy bread. We traveled from Toronto ON. I seen a Tv show that was reviewing this location so I just had to try the food while I was there! I was looking forward to an authentic down east Donair... The meat was really tasty! so good. The pita ... was warm and soft. But the sauce that they put on it..... Oh no! it was like someone just globed on some sweet creamy off while substance all over mine! It was not to my taste at all. And put me off this sandwich. The staff was really nice, and the place has soo much to see inside. There is not much seating. I will be sticking with the Greek gyro from now on. But I am so glad that I was able to check this place out. Read more
