This small place serves some of the most delicious sushi I've ever had. We looked it up while on holiday. Very freindly staff, and specialty rolls were good and unique. Hawaii roll was very good as were the appetizers. The spicy sushi rolls were horrible though. Had the spicy salmon and tuna rolls, and was very unimpressed. The amount of fish used was almost not visible amongst the diced ... iceberg lettuce which made up the majority of the rolls core. The old adage of, 'you get what you pay for' is certainly true at Alex Oh. The quality of food and service are unparalleled in Halifax. The presentation and quality of the food is nothing short of inspiring. Easily the best sushi option in HRM.

Stopped in while in Halifax for business - actually my girlfriend and I walked into the wrong sushi place and found this gem. We could not stay long so we got our orders to go. While in the restaurant waiting, the service was excellent and friendly - in the middle of ... the afternoon on a Wednesday. We were provided the best cup of tea I've ever tasted, and then on the road home ate the best sushi rolls and delicately cut, delicious sashimi I've been lucky enough to try. The wasabi was hot and flavourful, and balanced out the rolls perfectly. I didn't try eating the miso in the car, and forgot it in my fridge for too long so I can't comment on it. Best sushi in Halifax period. Alex owns and operates the most authentic and fusion inspired restaurant in Halifax. Every time the plate comes out, I am wowed by how much attention to detail is paid to the presentation of the sushi. And the designs of the places are even changed ... every month or so. Now moving on to the sushi itself, if you want the freshest and most flavourful sushi in town then don't look anywhere other than Alex. Like actually only Alex is the place to look at. Read more
