MOTHERS PIZZA - Halifax, Nova Scotia

I dropped by Mother's for dinner last week. I'll just say it's not the same Mother's dining experience from 7 or 8 years ago. The pizza is still great...thin crust, nice crisp, a little flop, but great char...although it feels like I'm eating in a Domino's or Pizza ... Pizza as Uber drivers come in and out and the decor from years back is faded. When I lived in the North End years ago, this was a hip neighborhood pizza spot that was always packed and had great vibes. Clearly Mother's has decided to pivot towards takeout as opposed to dine in. It's also clear they're under new ownership that's prioritizing delivery. Best pizza in Halifax, we ordered chicken pizza and they allow us to customise the pizza.

Been going past here for years. Finally had a chance to drop in. Somewhat randomly picked the "White" pizza from the menu. Thinking it is a bechamel/mushroom variation. It is not. Still it was enjoyable. Mother's stands out from yeah yeah's or Sal's with a very distinctive crust. Not thin, ... not thick. But very good. Just the right amount of crunch and rigidity. The staff was incredibly friendly! The pizza was pretty good. It was different with the garlic mushrooms. I was the only one dining in but there was a ton of take out orders. It was nice to be able to see the pizza cooking in the oven. Price was reasonable ... as well. Read more

I recently visited Mother's Pizza and had a fantastic experience. We ordered three regular pizzas, and each one was a delight. The vegetarian pizza stood out with its incredible combination of flavors. Topped with traditional tomato sauce, fresh spinach, zucchini, olives, and mushrooms, it was simply amazing. The Margherita and ... four cheese pizzas were equally tempting and didn't disappoint. The quality of the ingredients and the traditional flavors truly shone through in every bite.
