Tony’s Donair & Pizza - Halifax, Nova Scotia

First off, what person thought a sweet sauce on Donair was a good idea? It really isn't my thing ( garlic based sauce is the right answer). That said, I enjoyed experiencing a Halifax Donair for the one and only time. The meat was delicious and pita was fresh maybe a ... few more topping options would be nice. Service fast and friendly. Food was delicious, and the place was air conidtioned and comfy. I had a donar and my wife had the shwarma bowl. The donair was amazing but I expected that, however the shawarma bowl was incredible. To taste one of the original Donairs, was an amazing experience! The sauce is what makes it. Sweet, creamy and a hint of spice. Lightly crispy meat. I would have preferred a bit more onion and tomato to balance the impression of eating something healthy, but hey indulge! Amazing!

My first food stop in Halifax and I was impressed went for the classic donair with tomatoes beef and donair sauce. Delicious - grab some extra napkins as you’ll need a bit of a clean up after eating. I’ll have to try the shawarma next time

The area seems a little sketchy, but I was treated with respect and dignity. The flavour was intense and full of depth as the experience kept changing: from sweet to spicy to deliciousness in every bite. I would highly recommend this place
