A classic mom and pop mid-century style diner with simple but delicious food. Everything on their menu is so affordable that the first time you see it, you question if a meal costing $10 could even be...good, in this day and age. What an amazing place From the retro feel to the truly "homecooked" meals!!! A true hidden gem! Will 💯 be back to try much more! The open kitchen feels so welcoming and it's like my Nonna and Nomma are cooking in front of me! Super welcoming!

You get what you came for here: a charming, relaxed diner with simple, good food. The prices are very reasonable, and the customer service is top notch. It's likely the best food you'll find in this price range.

Always a great time at Westcliff. Food is delicious traditional diner food at a very reasonable price in a traditional diner atmosphere, which is next to impossible to find these days. The banter between the owners is quite entertaining and they are always welcoming and friendly. Love to support this locally owned ... longtime Halifax staple. A few things to know when you go; 1) When you enter grab menus for your table as well as paper and pencil to write your tables order (all orders for one table on the same paper please). Be sure to include any drinks (including water), side choices and sauces on the paper. 2) When youve finished writing your order down, take it to the counter and give it to one of the owners. They will make your meal and bring it to your table. 3) When you are finished you bus (clean) your own table off and bring the dishes and garbage to the bins provided. 4) You then go to the cash to pay (you dont pay at the table) As someone with anxiety this was a bit overwhelming at first but now its become a unique dining experience that our family and friends enjoy. Great little dinner. I had the fish and chips. Batter on the fish was nice and crispy and fish was flaky. The fries were crispy and fluffy. Gravy was a nice add on too. The price was excellent at $8 for a 2 piece. I'm going back soon to try ... the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Read more
