Jincheng Chinese Cuisine - Halifax, Nova Scotia

Really great food, have wanted to go here for years. Very authentic Chinese food focusing on the Sichuan province. Had their Gong Bao chicken (which is similar to Kung Pao), hot and sour soup, and one of their tofu dishes which surprisingly had pork in the sauce. Everything was delicious, I ... had 2 out of 3 spice level and it was perfect (I do love spicy food though). The soup was thick and full of tofu and veggies. I'd recommend looking for a picture of the menu to study before going as it doesn't describe what the dishes are. Would be helpful to look up the names to find out what is in the dish. Read more

Authentic Sichuan food. Try the mapu tofu and gong Bao chicken. Ask for them medium spicy. This is a hole in the wall place so don't expect fancy decor.

This spot is uniquely great. The atmosphere isn't much to write about, but the food is phenomenal. I've tried most of the menu, and in my opinion, the stand outs are the Chili Chicken, the Cold Spicy Szechuan Noodles, the Di San Xian, the Dry Fried Green Beans, ... and the Spicy Shredded Potato. Very authentic spicy Chinese cuisine. I found my vegetarian dish (the chilli green beans) to be very small for the price and it took a very long time to make. I saw some other dishes there that looked better though so will have to visit again and update my review
