Hamburger was good, but fries were obviously frozen, had that yuck taste. Trout was great, potatoes absolutely delicious, but portion size way to small. Great wait staff, neat locale, but too loud to hear well. Could be a 4.5 star restaurant, stop it with the frozen fries, not fooling anyone.

Restaurant was recommended by our Daughter when we came to Halifax for a visit.Went on a Friday night..no Reservation but they squeezed us in and gave us 2 hrs because the table was booked for 8 pm. Our first meal in Halifax came just up the street from our Airbnb. What a fantastic surprise: the food was excellent, the presentation excellent, one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time traveling. A must stop if you are visiting the city. Reservations maybe required.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing .. I love that you can see the old front of store wall in the windowed in area we were in. Food was really good and our server was absolutely fantastic. The menu was a little on the pricey side.

Top-notch food. Some of the best I've eaten in Halifax. I had a potato leek soup, which was very good, although I could have done without the pickled mustard seeds. One of my baguette slices was toasted beyond edibility but that was quickly corrected. My entree was a short rib, ... which was very, very rich. It was served with hasselback potatoes covered in a delicious sauce, and a broccoli cooked with olive oil, lemon, and salt. They were the best-tasting broccoli I've ever had, and one of the highlights of the meal. My wife had halibut with "French gnocchi" which she loved, too.
