Swiss Chalet - Halifax, Nova Scotia

The food was pretty standard, always consistent. Can’t complain there. My service was very mediocre. I dined in on a Monday around 3pm. The hostess was great, sat me right away. My server didn’t show up at my table to take my order for about 10 minutes. Considering there were 2 ... other people in the restaurant, that took way too long. Food came out relatively fast after order was placed. My server did not ask if I needed anything my entire meal. Just happened to walk by after I was done my meal, and laid the check down. I then sat there for 15 minutes as she chatted up her coworker at the bar waiting for the machine to be brought over. Eventually I stood up and started to collect my stuff and a fellow customer (also at the bar) pointed out that it looked like I was ready to leave. She grabbed the machine and bustled over continuing to chat with her coworker from across the bar, ignoring me. What was supposed to be a 30 minute lunch turned into an hour. The food was ok. The service was better. And the water was great!!!!

We took a U11 hockey team (as well as adults) to the Lacewood Dr location last evening. Our reservation was for 7pm, and they were all ready for us when we arrived shortly after 6:30pm. The waitresses/waiter were phenomenal! All drinks were served, and food out within an hour. They ... were friendly, courteous, and accommodating. They didn’t let the somewhat loudness of our group phase them a bit. Probably the most successful team dinner we have experienced. Kudos to the Lacewood Dr team! Read more

Had two quarter chicken dinners and crispy chicken tenders with mini-donuts for dessert. Everything was delicious. Tried the seasoned fries which were good but I think I like the regular ones better. The three of us split the mini-donuts with caramel sauce for dessert and it we LOVED them! So ... yummy and plenty for us to share. Would definitely recommend those! Read more

Visited for a meal on a weekend. Food had right quantity and service was timely. Atmosphere was great for having conversations (not too loud or quiet). Would go back for another visit.
